The Introduction to Sports Concussion Management training course provides basic information for non-healthcare providers on appropriate actions to take if an athlete has suffered a head injury while participating in sports. The course is NOT designed to license or certify course participants as providers of healthcare, rather provide basic skills for the initial responders to the injury.

The Introduction to Sports Concussion Management training course provides basic information for nurses on appropriate actions to take if an athlete has suffered a head injury while participating in sports. This course will develop a nurse’s knowledge and skills in how to properly differentiate between a medical emergency and a concussion, execute an emergency action plan, and provide sport-specific recommendations for post-concussion care by following best practice and state law requirements.
